Many have tried to learn Centering Prayer through a book, from a video or audio tape or from a pamphlet.
But the best way to learn Centering Prayer we believe and the most thorough way is from a person who has a regular practice of Centering Prayer, ample experience in the prayer and its effects in daily life, and who has been trained to teach and transmit the method of Centering Prayer. It's also important to learn it with other people in a group workshop setting.

The Introduction to Centering Prayer
Ideally, Contemplative Outreach UK teaches Centering Prayer and its conceptual background over six weeks as participants develop a daily practice of prayer. The components are:

A 6 hour Centering Prayer Introductory Workshop.
